The Rock Lodge is an Apres Ski Bar concept brought to the UK by Aaron Neil with the support of his Mum Jill and Step Dad Mark. Aaron had always wanted to run a bar, but given his love of music, love for good food and passion for having fun with his friends, including Skiing/Snowboarding, his idea was to have something different to the normal English pub.  Jill's background was in hospitality and interior design, whilst Mark was an Entrepreneur with a background in finance.

Aaron, Jill and Mark, together with there 2 other children, all had a love for skiing and had been skiing every year since Aaron was 3, to places such as Meribel and  Avoriaz in France. Indeed Jill and Mark, now spend most of the year living in the French Alps, and every year,, in January, all The Rock Lodge staff spend a week skiing in the Alps rounded off with the all important Apres Skiing together in the Evening.

When the opportunity came for Aaron to buy his first bar in Whitstable, Kent, a traditional British seaside town, most people thought he was mad to open an Apres Ski bar.  But in 2016 that's exactly what he did. Spending every night and day for 3 or 4 months planning the bar, working on the business plan, buying furnishings and finally fitting out the bar, The Rock Lodge was launched on 24th November 2016.

The bar was a success from the very beginning with its unique décor, fun vibe, great live bands and friendly staff, and since the opening in June 2018 of a luxury 'Next Level' lodge style restaurant on the first floor, the business has gone from strength to strength. And of course, we have our own newspaper, “The Alpine Times” produced quarterly, to keep everyone informed on 'what's happening at the bar and beyond', which also doubles up as a menu.

It soon became apparent that The Rock Lodge was unique and people were coming from all over South East England to visit, either for a romantic meal, birthday celebration, or just an evening dancing and having fun with friends. So with Aaron not being one to sit still for very long, he soon started running a 'mobile' Rock Lodge bar at outside venues and then running live music events with well known UK Bands at different venues around Kent. He then started thinking about how to expand The Rock Lodge brand......... and the rest, as they say, is history....but knowing Aaron, there is bound to be lots more to come. Watch this space!!!
